Pericardial fat from a single horizontal long axis cardiac magnetic resonance cine image: a validation study against three-dimensional cardiac computed tomography

چکیده
Abstract Background Excess fat accumulation around the heart (i.e., pericardial fat) is positively associated with cardiovascular disease. Pericardial composed of two distinct depots: (1) epicardial fat, which a metabolically active adipose tissue located between and pericardium, (2) paracardial deposit in mediastinum outside parietal pericardium. Both depots are visible on horizontal long axis cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) cine four chamber view), offering an attractive opportunity to quantify from standard CMR images. Purpose To validate area measured single against whole-heart volumetric non-contrast computed tomography (CT) measurements. Methods accomplish our goal, we leveraged 25 cases Women's Ischemia Syndrome Evaluation – Coronary Vascular Dysfunction Continuation cohort who underwent both MRI CT within median 35 days apart. For MRI, was high resolution steady state free precession image imaging plane using commercially available software (CVI42 V5.13.5, Circle Cardiovascular Imaging, Figure 1A). CT, volume fully automated deep learning algorithm (QFAT 2.0, Results Fat closely related by three-dimensional strong correlations for (R2=0.72, p<0.01, 1B), (R2=0.80, 1C), (R2=0.91, 1D). Conclusions Measuring area, its constituent parts, feasible strongly reference CT. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: Public Institution(s). Main source(s): National Institutes Health

Bimodal magnetic resonance imaging-computed tomography nanoprobes: A Review
Bimodal imaging combines two imaging modalities in order to benefit from their advantages and compensate the limitations of each modality. This technique could accurately detect diseases for diagnostic purposes. Nanoparticles simultaneously offer diagnostic data via various imaging modalities owing to their unique properties. Moreover, bimodal nanoprobes could be incorporated into theranostic s...
متن کاملAssessment of long axis shortening with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. A validation study with different techniques
Methods 60 healthy volunteers, 60 patients with dilative cardiomyopathy, 40 patients with AL amyloidosis and 25 patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy underwent a CMR examination. 4 different techniques for the measurement of LAS were consecutively evaluated. Two of the techniques (LAS-epi/perp and LAS endo/perp) were assessed by measuring the distance between the epicardium or endocardium o...
متن کاملA study on differentiation of extra-cardiac activity by Slit Slat collimation in Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography
Introduction: Myocardial perfusion SPECTby 99mTc-Sestamibi and 99mTc-Tetrofosmin radiopharmaceuticals usually presents a false significant increase in the radiotracer uptake in the inferior myocardium due to the uptake in organs such as liver, bowel, stomach and biliary system. The present study evaluated a suitable Slit angle for differentiating extra-car...
متن کاملComputed Tomography and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance in Ischemic Heart Disease
Ischemic heart disease is a complex disease process caused by the development of coronary atherosclerosis, with downstream effects on the left ventricular myocardium. It is characterized by a long preclinical phase, abrupt development of myocardial infarction, and more chronic disease states such as stable angina and ischemic cardiomyopathy. Recent advances in computed tomography (CT) and cardi...
متن کاملImaging pericardial nocardiosis by cardiac magnetic resonance.
A 72-year-old female renal transplant recipient was admitted with asthenia and low-grade fever. Two months earlier, she developed nodular pulmonary infiltrates (Figure 1), and microbiological examination of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid established the diagnosis of pulmonary nocardiosis. She had been taking ciprofloxacin and minocycline since that time. Physical examination was unremarkable, and...
